GB/T 11798.9-2001 Motor vehicle safety testing equipment-Technical requirements of verification-Part 9:Technical requirement of verification for platform brake tester (English Version)
1 Scope
This standard specifies technical requirements of verification and verification method for platform brake tester.
This standard is applicable to verification for platform brake tester (hereinafter referred to as brake tester) and platform brake-wheel for motor vehicle safety testing as well as for braking part of the tester.
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. When this Standard is published, all the indicated editions are valid. GB/T 6587.7-1986 Basic Safety Tests for Electronic Measuring Instruments
3 Definitions
For the purposes of this Standard, the following definitions apply:
3.1 Platform brake tester
It refers to the test stand for a motor vehicle to travel at certain speed on a flat plate (a simulation of the actual flat road) and brake, thereby to accomplish dynamic measurement of brake force.
3.2 Specified load
It refers to the allowable gravity load of maximum wheel load mass of the inspected vehicles for braking plate.
3.3 Wheel braking force
It refers to the tangential force transferred between wheel and braking plate where the inspected vehicle is tested on braking plate.
3.4 Absolute value of difference for errors
It refers to the absolute value of brake force indicating error difference of the right and left braking plates.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 Appearance and general requirements
4.1.1 Brake tester shall be provided with clear nameplate with equipment name, equipment type, specified load, specified or allowable maximum wheel braking force, manufacturer's name, delivery date and delivery number.
4.1.2 Controls such as switch, button, socket and wiring terminal etc. shall be provided with obvious letters or symbols; the symbols shall meet relevant requirements and controls shall be flexible and reliable free from looseness and binding etc..
4.1.3 Worktable surface of the braking plate shall be free from any sharp corner or defect that may damage the tire or affect the measurement; furthermore, under imbalance load, the worktable shall be free from obvious deformation such as warping.
4.1.4 Display instrument shall be free from defects that may affect the reading.
4.1.5 Parts which composes brake tester shall be in their intactness, correct installation, reliable connection and positioning; the moving parts shall be free from binding etc..
4.2 Security of electrical system
4.2.1 The brake tester shall be provided with protective grounding terminal and clear grounding marks shall be provided near this terminal; protective grounding terminal shall be connected reliably through special flavovirens conducting wires and protective grounding points.
4.2.2 As for the electrical system of the brake tester, the security shall meet requirements of GB/T 6587.7-1986 for category I safety instrument with its rated operational voltage not more than 500 V; and the insulation value shall be no less than 5 MΩ.
