1 Scope
This standard specifies terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, inspection methods as well as marking and packaging, etc. of external micrometer (including external micrometer with counter).
This standard is applicable to the external micrometer with division values of 0.001 mm, 0.002 mm and 0.005 mm, and with the upper limit of measuring range of 1000 mm.

the external dimension measuring instrument for reading the distance between two measurement planes of the scale holder with mechanically digital display device by making use of the screw pair principle
