This document is applicable to pilot-operated and direct-acting pressure reducing valves for industrial pipelines, and may be referenced for other types of pressure reducing valve tests. 2 Normative references The contents of the following documents, through normative citations in the text, constitute essential provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 12244 Pressure reducing valves - General requirements GB/T 13927 Industrial valves - Pressure testing 3 Terms and definitions The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12244 apply to this document. 4 Test equipment and measuring instruments 4.1 Test equipment 4.1.1 The schematic diagram of the pressure reducing valve performance test system is shown in Figures 1 to 4. 4.1.2 During the test, if the test conditions change or deviate, the valve under test may be readjusted, but no parts shall be replaced. 4.1.3 The inner diameters of the upstream and downstream pipe sections of the valve under test shall be equal to the inlet and outlet channel diameters of the valve under test, respectively. For valves with a nominal size not greater than DN250 and a nominal pressure not greater than PN100, the deviation of the inner diameters of the upstream and downstream pipe sections from the inlet and outlet channel diameters of the valve under test shall be within ±2%. 4.1.4 The inner walls of the pipes shall be free of rust, scale, or other obstructions that may cause excessive fluid disturbance. 4.2 Pressure tap and connection For incompressible medium test lines, the centerline of the pressure tap shall be in a horizontal position and intersect perpendicularly with the pipe centerline. For compressible medium test lines, the centerline of the pressure tap shall be in a horizontal position or perpendicular to the top of the pipe and intersect perpendicularly with the pipe centerline. The pressure tap shall be circular, as shown in Figure 5, with smooth edges, sharp or slightly rounded corners, and no burrs. The dimensions of the pressure tap shall comply with the requirements of Table 1. 4.3 Measuring instruments 4.3.1 Pressure measurement The accuracy error of pressure and differential pressure measurement shall not be greater than 0.5% of the instrument's full scale. The measured pressure value of the pressure gauge shall be within 30% to 70% of the instrument's full scale. 4.3.2 Temperature measurement Thermometers or other temperature measuring instruments (such as thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors) may be used. Thermometers or other temperature measuring instruments may be inserted into a protective tube. The protective tube for liquid-in-glass thermometers shall be clean and free of rust, and may be filled with an appropriate liquid with a boiling point higher than the maximum measured temperature. The resolution of the temperature measuring instrument shall not be less than ±1°C. 4.3.3 Flow measurement Flow meters or calibrated standard orifice devices may be used, or the method of collecting and directly weighing the discharged medium may be adopted. The accuracy class of the instrument shall not be lower than 1.0. 4.3.4 Condition of measuring instruments Measuring instruments shall be calibrated as required and within their validity period. 5 Test methods 5.1 Shell test Conducted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 13927. The test medium is water. If a pneumatic test is required, it shall be conducted after the hydrostatic test. The pressure-containing shell is tested, excluding the sensitive element (diaphragm, bellows). 5.2 Sealing performance test 5.2.1 Test medium The test medium is: — Ambient temperature air (for gas medium pressure reducing valves); — Ambient temperature water (for liquid medium pressure reducing valves); — Steam (for steam medium pressure reducing valves). 5.2.2 Test duration The test duration shall be in accordance with the provisions of Table 2. 5.2.3 Test procedure 5.2.3.1 The valve under test is in the closed position. The maximum inlet working pressure (or the nominal pressure if not marked on the nameplate) is applied at the inlet, with the outlet open to the atmosphere, to measure and record the leakage. 5.2.3.2 For gas leak detection, a vent tube (or other suitable method) is used for measurement, as shown in Figure 6. The vent tube has an inner diameter of 6 mm and a length not exceeding 500 mm. The inlet of the vent tube is not more than 300 mm above the liquid level in the water tank, and the outlet is submerged in the liquid, not more than 15 mm below the liquid surface. 5.3 Pressure Regulation Performance Test 5.3.1 Test Medium The test medium is: — Ambient temperature air (for gas medium pressure reducing valves); — Ambient temperature water (for liquid medium pressure reducing valves); — Steam (for steam medium pressure reducing valves). 5.3.2 Test Procedure
