GB/T 1346-2024 Test methods for water requirement of standard consistency, setting time and soundness of the portland cement
1 Scope
This document specifies the principle, apparatus, test water, test conditions and determination methods of water requirement of standard consistency, setting time and test methods for volume soundness mainly caused by free calcium oxide.
This document is applicable to the test for water requirement of standard consistency, setting time and soundness of general portland cement.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 6682 Water for analytical laboratory use - Specification and test methods
GSB 14-1510 Standard cement sample for strength inspection
JC/T 727 Apparatus for determining normal consistency and setting time of cement paste
JC/T 729 Mixer for cement paste
JC/T 954 Le Chatelier for determining soundness of cement paste
JC/T 955 Boiling box for determining soundness of cement
JC/T 962 Tester for determining expansion of Le Chatelier needles
3 Terms and definitions
3.1
water requirement of standard consistency
percentage of water consumed for paste mixing on the cement mass when the cement paste reaches the standard consistency state
3.2
setting time
time required from the moment when the cement is added to the water to the moment when the test needle sinks into the paste to a certain depth under the condition that the cement paste reaches the standard consistency
Note: It includes initial setting time and final setting time.
3.3
soundness
ability of cement paste to maintain a stable volume after hardening
Note: It is characterized by Le Chatelier test or test pat method.
4 Principle
4.1 Standard consistency of cement
The paste of standard consistency for cement has certain resistance to the sinking of the standard test bar (or test cone). Metal test bar (test bar method) or test cone (test cone method) is used to sink cement paste with different moisture contents. When the test bar or test cone can stay at the specified balance position, the moisture content is the water requirement of standard consistency, and the paste is cement paste of standard consistency.
4.2 Soundness after boiling
4.2.1 Le Chatelier test
