1 Scope
This part specifies the technical requirements of the following polyimide films, which may or may not be coated with heat-sealable fluoroethylene-propylene (FEP) coating;
1) Polyimide film based on poly (N, N'-P, P’-oxydiphenylene pyromellitimide);
2) Polyimide film based on poly-(N, N'-P-phenylene biphenyl-tetracarboxylimide);
3) Polyimide film based on poly-(N, N'-P, P'-oxydiphenylene biphenyl-tetracarboxylimide).
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of GB/T 13542, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding corrections to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest editions apply to this part.

IEC 60674-2:1988 Specification for plastic films for electrical purposes - Part 2: Methods of test (Amend.1 in 2001)
3 Classification and designation
3.1 Classification
Polyimide films are divided into the following types:
Type 1: general purpose;
Type 2A: one side coated;
Type 2B: two sides coated;
Type 3: dimensionally stabilized (generally only used for olypyromellitimide and p-benzene films);
Type 4: heat shrinkable (generally only used for olypyromellitimide).
Note: The surface of Type 2 is coated to make its surface heat-sealable.
