This standard specifies the criteria for the design of safety-related DC auxiliary power systems for nuclear power plants.
This standard is applicable to the design of lead-acid battery, static charging set and DC distribution equipment. It includes the quantity of equipments and the selection of equipment type, determination of equipment rated value, interconnection and the selection of instruments, controls and protections.
This standard is not applicable to the AC power source and DC system power supply load of the charging set (unless they affect the design of DC system).
