本标准代替GB/T 15247-1994《碳钢和低合金钢中碳的电子探针定量分析方法　灵敏度曲线法（检量线法）》。
本标准规定了用电子探针测定碳钢和低合金钢（其他合金元素质量分数小于2%）中碳含量的校正曲线法。
本标准包含试样制备、Х-射线检测、校正曲线建立以及碳含量检测不确定度的评估。
本标准适用于测定碳的质量分数小于1%的钢中碳含量，当含碳量高于1%时检测准确度会受到很大的影响，不适用于本标准。
本标准适用于垂直入射方式和波谱仪，不适用能谱仪。
本标准与GB/T 15247-1994的主要区别为：
———标准更名为《微束分析　电子探针显微分析　测定钢中碳含量的校正曲线法》；
———在第１章中更清楚地规定了本标准的适用范围；
———为了阐述分析原理，在3.4中增加了“电子束能量与碳Ka峰强度的关系”和“碳Ka峰的组成”两张图表；
———增加了“附录A　校正曲线法中计算值不确定度的评估方法”和“附录B　钢中碳的质量分数测定和不确定度评估举例”。附录Ａ 和附录Ｂ为资料性附录；
