3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
sheet molding compound (SMC)
sheet compound composed of thickening resin, chopped (and/or continuous) glass fiber reinforced material, filler, auxiliary agent and other materials, with the upper and lower surfaces covered with bearing film
3.2
sheet molding compound (SMC) for general purposes
SMC with unsaturated polyester resin and glass fiber as main raw materials
4 Classification and labeling
4.1 Classification
According to mechanical properties, SMC can be divided into three types: M1, M2 and M3.
According to shrinkage properties, SMC can be divided into four types: S1, S2, S3 and S4.
