1 Scope
This Standard states the basic methods for the design of explosion pressure venting carried out in such places where combustible dust and mixtures may occur.
This Standard is applicable to the general industrial dust.
This Standard is not applicable to toxic and corrosive dust, powders, explosives or energetic materials.
This Standard is not applicable to the equipments suffered from detonation hazards.
The explosion pressure venting technology stated in this Standard may be applied only under the conditions that it has no severe hazards to the surrounding environment and will not cause harm to human safety and health.
If actual tests are conducted to prove that the security level same as that of this Standard is guaranteed, the adopted method and the calculated venting area may be deviated from this Standard.
