This standard specifies the quarantine procedures and methods for the tobacco blue mold.
This standard is applicable to the blue mold quarantine of various import tobacco seeds, seedlings and leaves.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

quarantine
measure taken to prevent the spread of dangerous tobacco plant diseases and insect pests
3.2
tobacco blue mold
rapidly spreading and devastating disease caused by Peronospora tabacina, mainly damaging the tobacco leaves, but also infecting root and stem vascular bundles systematically
Note: The disease occurs in Europe, America and Australia, and there is no such disease in China at present. Therefore, the disease is decided as an import quarantine object. Its pathogen is Peronspora hyasc yami f. sp tabacina Adam (synonym of Perons pora nicotianae Speg, Peronos pora tabacina Adam), belonging to Mastigo-mycotin, Oomycetes, Peronosporales, Peronosporaceae and Peronos pora.
