1 Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the methods for determining the electrical resistivity of antistatic coating in petroleum tanks.
1.2 This standard is applicable to the determination of the electrical resistivity of antistatic coating for petroleum facilities such as petroleum tanks, railway tankers, refueling trucks, petrol delivery vehicles, petroleum pipeline, etc. It is also applicable to the determination of the electrical resistivity of antistatic coating test pieces in laboratories.
2 Normative references
GB 13348 Safety rules of static electricity with relation to liquid petroleum products
GB 15599 Safety rules of lightning with relation to petroleum and its facilities
3 Principles
3.1 In the determination, a parallel electrode is placed on the surface of the sample with a DC voltage applied across two electrodes. The resulting current is expressed as a surface resistivity value.
3.2 This method can measure the electrical surface resistivity below 1010 Ω.
