本标准适用于对电压和电流进行测量的X－t记录仪，这类仪器测量和记录与时间成函数的模拟电量。本标准也适用于其记录纸标度尺线条与输入电量的对应关系为已知的，但不直接与其输入电量相对应的记录仪。对其他电量的测量，GB/T 7676系列标准的有关部分也适用于记录仪。本标准也适用于与记录仪一起使用并已组合调整的不可互换附件及有限可互换附件(如分流器、阻抗件等)。本标准仅适用于装有记录仪的电输出控制器中的记录仪，不适用于其控制电路。本标准不适用于自身已有国家标准(或行业标准)的特殊用途记录仪或特殊用途装置(记录仪作为其附件时)。本标准不包括安全要求(见GB4973.1)和不包括耐环境条件的防护要求或相应试验。当必要时，可从GB/T2423中选择接近于使用条件的试验，以验证耐环境条件的防护能力。本标准也不包括对记录仪或附件的有关尺寸要求。
