ＧＢ１７８８８《机械安全　进入机械的固定设施》分为四个部分，本部分为ＧＢ１７８８８的第一部分。 本部分代替ＧＢ１７８８８．１―１９９９。 本部分规定了GB/T 15706.2中提及的安全进入机械的一般要求，给出了当需要进入且不能直接从地面或地板进入机械时，正确选择进入设施的建议。本部分适用于具有固定进入设施的所有固定式和移动式机械。本部分不适用电梯等可移动的装置。 与ＧＢ１７８８８．１―１９９９ 相比，主要技术内容修改如下：
――阶梯的倾角４６°～７４°改为４５°～７５°，坡道的倾角０°～１０°改为０°～２０°（第３章）；
――增加了直梯、阶梯、楼梯、坡道的倾角的图示；
――增加了装配说明书（第６章）；
――增加了参考文献。
