3 General Provisions
3.1 Amusement-rides merry go round category refers to the one whose person carrier rotates around vertical axle and whose movement type is similar to amusement rides.
3.2 The design, manufacture, installation, reconstruction, maintenance, test, inspection and usage management of amusement rides in rotation category shall meet the provisions stated in this standard and GB 8408-2008.
3.3 The design, manufacture, installation and usage of amusement-rides merry go round category shall guarantee personal safety.
3.4 All those requirements not mentioned in this standard shall be implemented according to relevant national standards, regulations and codes.
4 Basic Design Provisions
4.1 Basic requirements
4.1.1 For the design of amusement-rides merry go round category, design instruction, calculation sheet and operation instruction shall be provided; in addition, the design shall meet the requirements of the full set of construction drawings of relevant national standards.
4.1.2 During the design of amusement-rides merry go round category, the design service life of its main components and complete machine shall be specified; what's more, the service life of the complete machine shall not be less than 23000 hours.
4.1.3 Design of amusement-rides merry go round category shall meet the provisions specified in GB 8408-2008 and GB/T 15706 (all parts).

4.4.2 As for important axles and axle pins, in addition to stress calculation, whether the fatigue strength shall be checked is determined in accordance with load stress amplitude. Both stress calculation and fatigue strength checking shall meet the requirements of the safety coefficients given in Article 4.5 of GB 8408-2008. Those important axles and axle pins being difficult to dismantle shall be designed according to infinite lift.
4.4.3 Design indexes of steel structures and their connections shall meet the provisions in Article 3.4 of GB 50017-2003.
4.4.4 Fatigue calculation of steel structures and their connections shall meet the provisions stated in Chapter 6 of GB 50017-2003.
4.4.5 Corresponding calculations for movable amusement-rides merry go round category shall be carried out according to Article 4.5.5, 4.5.6 and 4.5.7 in GB 8408 - 2008.
4.5 Foundation shall meet the requirements in Article 8.8 of GB 8408-2008.
4.6 As for amusement-rides merry go round category, labels shall be fixed in notable positions and the labels shall include the name, model, No., manufacturing date and manufacturing license No. of the product at least.
4.7 The requirements of "main components", "important axles, axle pins" and "important welded joints" are specified in Annex A.
5 Transmission System
5.1 Design of transmission system shall guarantee operation safety; even if system fails, the amusement-rides merry go round category shall be safe.
5.2 Amusement-rides merry go round category shall be started stably and the transmission mechanism shall operate normally. During complete machine operation, those phenomena such as abnormal vibration, impact, heating, noise and clamping are not allowed.
5.3 Machine transmission part shall meet the requirements stated in Article 5.3.2, 5.3.3, 5.3.4, 5.3.5, 5.3.6 and 5.3.7 in GB 8408 - 2008.
