NOTE: This series of tests includes the pumping phase modulation startup test, pumping phase modulation operating condition test, pumping operating condition test, generation startup test, generation operating condition test, generation phase modulation operating condition test, operating condition transfer tests and gridrelated tests. 4 General Requirements 4.1 The startup trial operation of a unit shall be carried out after the installation and subsystem commissioning of all equipment have been completed and accepted. 4.2 Before the unit startup, the power station shall organise the establishment of a startup acceptance committee (hereinafter referred to as the “SUAC”), which shall uniformly manage the startup acceptance work. A trial operation command centre shall be established under the SUAC. The work responsibilities and contents of the SUAC are given in Annex A. 4.3 The startup trial operation of a unit shall proceed according to the following procedure: a) Prestart preparation: review relevant documents and materials, inspect the systems and equipment related to the unit startup. The SUAC shall inspect the preparation status for the startup work and confirm that the startup conditions are met. b) Carry out startup tests and accept the test results. c) The trial operation shall meet the assessment requirements. The SUAC shall inspect the completion status of the trial operation and provide an overall evaluation of the unit. d) Hand over the unit and relevant documents and materials for commercial operation. 5 PreStart Preparation 5.1 General Requirements 5.1.1 The unit installation and subsystem commissioning shall have been completed and accepted. 5.1.2 The power station shall have signed a grid connection dispatch agreement and a power purchase and sale contract with the grid enterprise. 5.1.3 The unit shall have passed quality supervision inspection and obtained the grid connection opinion for the power construction project. 5.1.4 The SUAC shall have approved the startup trial operation outline. The contents of the startup trial operation outline are given in Annex B. 5.1.5 The trial operation command centre shall have approved the startup trial operation test plan. 5.1.6 The startup trial operation outline and related test plans shall have been submitted to the relevant grid department for review and record. 5.1.7 The startup trial operation personnel shall have completed their assignments, briefings and training. 5.1.8 The operational shift personnel shall have completed their training, obtained the corresponding qualification certificates and be ready for duty. 5.1.9 The equipment and ground related to the unit startup shall have been cleaned, the roads shall be unobstructed, and the lifting openings and temporary openings shall have been sealed. 5.1.10 The command and communication related to the unit startup shall be unimpeded. 5.1.11 The equipment related to the unit startup shall have been uniformly numbered and labelled. 5.1.12 The operating equipment shall have been isolated from the nonoperating equipment, and clear safety warning signs shall be posted. 5.1.13 The monitoring instruments and meters related to the unit startup shall be ready and within their calibration validity period. 5.1.14 The special equipment related to the unit startup, such as air receiver tanks, pressure oil tanks, pressure pipelines and their accessories, shall have obtained the special equipment use registration certificate as required. 5.1.15 The oil products in the oil tanks and return oil tanks related to the unit startup shall have been tested and accepted. 5.2 Preparation of Documents and Materials Before the unit startup, the following documents and materials shall be reviewed, including but not limited to: a) General arrangement drawings (e.g., unit and plant arrangement drawings, and plant flooding escape route); b) Electrical main wiring diagram and plant power system wiring diagram; c) Drawings, material lists and installation and operation instructions for main components such as the generatormotor and its auxiliary equipment, and the pumpturbine and its auxiliary equipment; d) Control schematic diagrams, terminal interface lists and operation and maintenance manuals for the monitoring system, relay protection system, excitation system, static frequency converter (SFC), outlet voltage equipment, governor, main inlet valve and gates; e) Upper and lower reservoir storage capacity curves and requirements for initial reservoir filling; f) Calculation report for abnormally low head; g) Comprehensive operating characteristic curve diagram of the pumpturbine; h) Relationship between guide vane opening and head; i) Calculation report for transient processes; j) Electromagnetic calculation report for the generatormotor; k) Lockout logic table for the generatormotor voltage circuit; l) Setting value sheets for the switchyard protection device, transformer protection device, generatormotor protection device, etc.;
