1 Scope
This part specifies the standard stand test method and test equipment for the influence of intake value and combustion chamber deposits of gasoline detergent. This test method covers an engine dynamometer test procedure for evaluation of deposit tendencies on the intake valve of unleaded spark-ignition engine gasoline.
This part is applicable to the evaluation of detergency of both gasoline detergent and unleaded motor gasoline.
Note: This part does not explain all safety precautions. It is the responsibility of the method users to take corresponding safety and hygiene measures and to determine whether they comply with relevant laws and regulations before use.

3 Summary of test method
The engine used in the test is M111 engine with four cylinders, four strokes, four valves per cylinder, electronically controlled ignition and gasoline injection system and displacement of 2.0L produced by DaimlerChrysler. Before the engine test, run-in (for new engines) shall be carried out according to the specified working conditions. Before each test, relevant parts shall be cleaned according to the specified procedures and systematically inspected. Then, the engine cycle test shall be carried out according to strict test working conditions, and 800 cycles shall be completed within 60h; the deposits in the intake valve and combustion chamber after the test shall be collected carefully with special tools, and the evaluation of the deposits shall be completed within 16h.
