Polybutene (PB) piping systems for hot and cold water installations—Part 3: Fittings
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 19473 specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviated terms, materials, product classification, requirements, system suitability, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transportation and storage of Polybutene (PB) pipe fittings (hereinafter referred to as "fittings") using PB compound as raw materials by injection moulding.
This part, together with other parts of GB/T 19473, is applicable to hot and cold water piping systems within buildings, including those for drinking water and heating.
Note: It is the responsibility of the purchaser to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, considering their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and standards or codes.

3 Terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviated terms
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviated terms given in GB/T 19473.1-2020 and GB/T 19278-2018 apply.
4 Materials
4.1 The PB compound graded in accordance with GB/T 19473.1-2020, Clause 5 shall be used for fitting production.
4.2 The metal materials and sealing materials of pipe fittings in contact with PB materials or water during use shall not adversely affect the water quality and shall not cause degradation or aging of plastic piping materials.
4.3 The reprocessable materials shall not be used in fittings production.
