GB/T 20808:2022 Paper towel
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, raw materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of paper towel.
This document is applicable to all kinds of paper towels, paper napkins and paper handkerchiefs used in daily life.
This document is not applicable to wet wipes, toilet paper and kitchen towel.

4 Classification
4.1 Paper towels are classified by use into facial tissues, paper napkins and paper handkerchiefs.
4.2 Paper towels are classified by raw materials into raw wood pulp (fiber) paper towels, raw non-wood pulp (fiber) paper towels and raw mixed pulp (fiber) paper towels.
Note 1:Raw wood pulp (fiber) paper towel refers to paper towel with 100% native wood pulp (fiber) as fiber raw material.
Note 2: Raw non-wood pulp (fiber) (e.g. straw pulp, bamboo pulp, bagasse pulp, etc.) paper towels refer to paper towels with 100% raw non-wood pulp (fiber) as fiber raw materials.
Note 3:Native mixed pulp (fiber) paper towels refer to paper towels produced by mixing raw wood pulp (fiber) and raw non-wood pulp (fiber).
4.3 Paper towels are classified by product performance into ordinary paper towels, soft paper towels, wet strength paper towels, dispersible paper towels and humectant paper towels. Among them, the ordinary type is classified into superior products and acceptable products.
Note: Humectant paper towels refer to paper towels with soft and smooth surface with a certain amount of moisturizing ingredients.
4.4 Paper towels are classified by the number of layers into single-layer ones, double-layer ones and multi-layer ones.
4.5 Paper towels are classified by color into white paper towels, natural color paper towels and colored paper towels, among which colored paper towels are classified into printed paper towels and dyed paper towels.
4.6 Paper towels are classified by the process into embossed paper towels and non-embossed paper towels.
