3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.65 and the following apply.
3.1 electrodeless fluorescent lamp
A fluorescent lamp without electrodes, in which discharge energy is provided to the lowpressure mercury vapour by electromagnetic coupling.
3.2 selfballasted electrodeless fluorescent lamp
An electrodeless fluorescent lamp incorporating a lamp cap, ballast, discharge tube and coupling elements as an integral unit, which is not intended to be disassembled without damage to the lamp.
3.3 rated value (light sources and related equipment)
A value used for specification purposes, declared by the producer or supplier and determined under standard test conditions.
NOTE 1: To indicate the “rated value” of a specific quantity, the term “value” is replaced by the name of the quantity, e.g., rated power, rated voltage, rated current and rated temperature.
NOTE 2: Standard test conditions are given in relevant standards.

3.4 initial values
Values of starting characteristics, electrical characteristics, photometric characteristics and colour characteristics measured after the lamp has been seasoned for 100 h.
3.5 power factor
The ratio of the active power of the lamp to the product of the supply voltage (r.m.s. value) and the supply current (r.m.s. value).
3.6 lumen maintenance
The ratio, expressed as a percentage, of the luminous flux of the lamp at a given time during its life to its initial luminous flux, when the lamp is operated under specified conditions.
3.7 luminous efficacy
The ratio of the luminous flux emitted by a light source to the power consumed by it.
3.8 life
The total operating time of a lamp up to the point when it is no longer usable or when it is considered to have failed according to specified criteria.
NOTE 1: The unit of lamp life is usually the hour (h).
NOTE 2: This term is numbered 845-07-61 in IEC 60050845:1987.
[Source: GB/T 2900.65-2023, 845-27-101]
3.9 median life
In a life test of n lamps (n ≥ 10), the life at which 50 % of the lamps have failed, in order of failure.
3.10 starting time
The time required for the lamp to start fully and maintain stable operation after the supply voltage is switched on.
3.11 runup time
The time required for the luminous flux of the lamp to reach 80 % of its stabilised luminous flux after the supply voltage is switched on.
3.12 stabilisation time
The time required for the photometric and electrical characteristics of the lamp to stabilise after the supply voltage is switched on.

4.2 Type designation rules
The type designation rules for lamps are as follows.
Example: The type designation for a selfballasted electrodeless lamp for general lighting services with 220 V, 50 Hz, 40 W, daylight colour is WJZ 220 V 50 Hz 40 WRR.
NOTE: The lamp operating current, lamp construction type and other lamp information are optional marking items.
5 Requirements
5.1 Safety requirements
The safety requirements for lamps shall comply with the provisions of GB 21554.
5.2 Lamp dimensions
