This standard specifies a method of measuring the magnetic levitation force of large-grain bulk oxide superconductor (bulk superconductor) at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K). This standard is applicable to measurement of the axial magnetic levitation force of cylindrical RE-Ba-Cu-O superconductors prepared by melt-textured growth process, with a diameter being equal to or less than 50 mm.The measurements of axial and non-axial magnetic levitation force of cylindrical bulk superconductors with a diameter of over 50 mm and bulk superconductors with other regular shapes (cube, cuboid, regular hexagonal prism, etc.) may also be carried out with reference to this standard.
