GB/T 223.50-1994 Methods for chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloy The phenylfuorone-CTMAB direct photometric method for the determination of tin content (English Version)
1 Subject Content and Application Scope
This Standard specifies Phenylfluorone-CTMAB direct photomctric method for determination of tin content.
This Standard is applicable to determination of tin in pig iron, carbon steel and low alloyed steel. The tin content range by determination is as: 0.0050%~0.20%.
2 Principle
In medium of diluted sulfuric acid, tin (IV) with phenylfluorone and CTMAB forms multiads, showing stable orange red, and measure the absorbance with spectrophotometer at a wave length of 536nm.
There is no effect when the content of wolfram, molybdenum and titanium in the developing solution shall respectively be less than 10μg, the content of niobium shall be less than 5μg, and the content of tantalum shall be less than μg.
