1 Scope
This standard specifies classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of fountain pens.
This standard is applicable to the fountain pen having such a mechanism that the ink retained in the barrel and the metal nib is spot welded with iridium particles, which can be used for writing in the capillary principle.

3 Classification
3.1 Fountain pens are classified into fountain pen with gold nib and fountain pen with iraurite nib by the nib material. Nib of the fountain pen with gold nib is made of gold alloy; nib of the fountain pen with iraurite nib is made of acid-resisting stainless steel; both pens are spot welded with iridium particles (wear-resistant alloy) on the tip.
