3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
hydraulic bottle jack
light and small lifting equipment with vertical structure, hydraulic oil as working medium, plunger or hydraulic cylinder as rigid lifting parts, lifting heavy objects through the bearing surface within its stroke
3.2
rated capacity
Gn
maximum allowable lifting weight of hydraulic bottle jack can be lifted in the full stroke under normal working conditions
3.3
lowest height
H
vertical distance from the carrying surface to the bottom bearing surface when the piston rod and adjusting screw of hydraulic bottle jack are fully retracted
3.4
lifting height
H1
vertical distance of the carrying surface of hydraulic bottle jack from the position at lowest height to the reliable limited position
3.5
adjusting height
H2
vertical distance of the adjusting screw of hydraulic bottle jack from the fully retracted position to the reliable limited position
3.6
load limiting device
safety device for hydraulic system of hydraulic bottle jack to prevent overloading
Note: The load limiting device is usually a relief valve.
3.7
press down force for piston rod
force applied on the bearing surface of hydraulic bottle jack to lower the piston rod when the return valve is fully opened
3.8
duty
statement of a series of loads to which the machine is subjected, including starting, electric braking, no-load, rest and de-energized and their durations and sequence in time

4 Types and basic parameters
4.1 Types
Hydraulic bottle jacks are classified into single-stage piston rod hydraulic bottle jacks and multi-stage piston rod hydraulic bottle jacks according to the structure.
Hydraulic bottle jacks are classified into manual hydraulic bottle jacks and/or other power (pneumatic or electric, etc.) hydraulic bottle jacks according to the operating method.
A typical example is shown in Figure 1.
