Methods of measuring and evaluating noise of pumps
1 Scope
This standard specifies the environmental requirements for measuring sound pressure level on the measurement surface of envelope pump, measuring instruments, installation and working conditions of pump, measurement of surface sound pressure level, calculation of sound power level and evaluation method of noise level of pump.
This standard is applicable to pumps or pump units of various types except submerged pumps and reciprocating pumps, which are driven by motors and whose working medium is liquid.

Lpeq, T
a continuous and steady sound pressure level, which has the same mean square sound pressure as the measured sound that changes with time in the measurement time interval T, is also called equivalent sound pressure level
