This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 3003-2006 Refractory - Ceramic fibre and the products. The following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 3003-2006:
——The standard name is modified;
——Four terms, i.e. alkaline earth silicate fibre, aluminosilicate fibre, polycrystalline fibre and refractory fibre textiles, and their definitions are added (see 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 and 3.12);
——Terms of refractory fibre products are modified (see 3.5~3.11);
——The classification and identification of refractory fibres are added (see Tables 1 and 3);
——The grading temperature is changed to the maximum service temperature (see Table 2);
——The shot content of aluminosilicate bulk fibres is modified and the shot content of alkaline earth silicate bulk fibres is added (see Table 5);
——The bio-soluble index and the determination method of solubility of alkaline earth silicate fibre are added (see Table 6 and Annex B);
——The allowable deviation range of the dimension of refractory fibre felts is added (see Table 8);
——The allowable deviation range of the length and width of refractory fibre boards is modified, and the technical indexes of refractory fibre boards are added (see Tables 13 and 14);
——The moisture content of both refractory fibre boards and felts is modified (see Tables 7 and 14);
——The nominal thickness and dimensional deviation of the refractory fibre paper are modified (see Table 15);
——The loss on ignition (LOI) index of the refractory fibre paper and refractory fibre textiles is modified to organic matter content (see Tables 16 and 18);
——The yarn and packing products of refractory fibre textiles are deleted;
——Tables of the dimensional deviations and physical properties of refractory fibre textiles are added (see Tables 17 and 18);
——The detection method of chemical composition of refractory fibres and the products as specified in GB/T 21114 is added (see Clause 6);
——The detection method for the maximum force of refractory fibre tapes and refractory fibre twisted ropes is modified (see 6.3.11);
——The maximum batch size of batches of refractory fibre products is added, with the unit changed from delivery package to tonne, and the sampling frequency of refractory fibre products is added (see Clause 7).

4.1 Classification

4.2 Grading
4.2.1 Grading principle
The permanent linear change in dimension on heating of refractory fibre products is determined according to GB/T 17911, and the temperature at which the permanent linear change in dimension on heating does not exceed the following specified values is taken as the maximum service temperature, based on which the refractory fibre products are graded.
Refractory fibre board and rigid refractory fibre product and shapes: the permanent linear change in dimension on heating does not exceed 3%.
Soft products such as refractory bulk fibre and refractory fibre blanket, felt and paper: the permanent linear change in dimension on heating does not exceed 4%.
4.2.2 Grading
Refractory fibre products are graded from 850℃ to 1,750℃ according to the maximum service temperature when their permanent linear change in dimension on heating meets the requirements of 4.2.1. The interval is 50℃, and the maximum service temperatures are rounded down to integral times of 50, as shown in Table 2.

4.3 Marking
The marking of refractory fibres is expressed by the English name abbreviation of the corresponding fibre, as shown in Table 3. The main marking of refractory fibre products is composed of the English name abbreviation of the corresponding product, the first three digits of the maximum service temperature and the category, possibly followed by the auxiliary marking, as shown in Table 4.

4.2 Grading
4.2.1 Grading principle
