Bitumen with high viscosity and elastic recovery for pavement
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of bitumen with high viscosity and elastic recovery for pavement.
This standard is applicable to two designations of bitumen with high viscosity and elastic recovery for pavement produced by bitumen modification process with bitumen for heavy traffic road pavement or vacuum residue produced by atmospheric vacuum process with petroleum as raw material. This standard is applicable to bitumen with high viscosity and elastic recovery for pavement for road stress absorbing layer, bridge deck pavement and drainage pavement, and can be used by reference for other pavements with similar requirements.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 bitumen with high viscosity and elastic recovery
bitumen with viscosity (60 °C) greater than 20,000 Pa·s and elastic recovery (25 °C) greater than 85%
4 Product classification
For the purpose of this standard, the products are classified into two designations by usage. AVE-1 is used for drainage pavement and bridge deck pavement; AVE-2 is used for stress absorbing layer. A stands for asphalt, which is the first letter of the English word asphalt; V is the first letter of the English word viscosity; E is the first letter of the English word elasticity.
