本标准规定了水族箱用及类似用途的单级电磁活塞式气泵的术语和定义、命名、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存等。
本标准适用于额定电压不超过250V的单级电磁活塞式气泵（以下简称气泵）。该类气泵主要用于水族箱及水产养殖场，通过向水中泵入空气而增加水中的含氧量；也可用于需提供气压、气量的其他类似场所。
本标准不适用于输送除空气以外气体的泵。
