1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transport and storage for diesel engines used for railway locomotive traction (hereinafter referred to as "diesel engines").
This document applies to newly manufactured diesel engines for diesel locomotives. Diesel engines for other diesel multiple units may refer to this document.

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 3367.1 and GB/T 3367.2 apply.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.2 Diesel engines of the same model shall be completely interchangeable, and their main components shall be universally interchangeable.
4.1.3 Diesel engines shall have a classification table for important parts characteristics and a classification table for part importance.
4.1.4 Fire protection for diesel engines shall meet the following requirements:
a)Comply with the provisions of Clause 6 of GB/T 4556—2025;
b)Use nonflame propagating materials and fireresistant materials, and comply with TB/T 3138;
c) Use lowhalogen, lowsmoke flameretardant or lowhalogen, lowsmoke fireresistant cables and wires;
d) The arrangement or protection of highpressure fuel lines shall prevent leaked diesel fuel from coming into contact with hightemperature heat sources. Protection methods include pipe cladding, shielding and isolation, etc.;
e) The exhaust pipe and the turbocharger turbine inlet pipe shall be clad with thermal insulation material or provided with a heat shield;
) The crankcase shall have explosion protection function.
4.1.5 Nonmetallic materials used in diesel engines shall meet the requirements of TB/T 3139.
4.1.6 Through calculation and verification, diesel engines shall meet the working requirements of a longitudinal inclination not exceeding 3° and a lateral inclination not exceeding 15°.
4.1.7 At least the following technical documents for the diesel engine shall be provided:
a)Application environment, working conditions and installation technical requirements;
b)Schematic diagrams of the fuel system, lubricating oil system, cooling water system and control system, etc.;
c)Overall outline dimensions, dimensions relative to the crankshaft centre and a centre of gravity diagram, mounting connection dimensions and installation adjustment requirements;
d)Spatial positions for connection with external equipment and installation dimensions of interfaces;
e)Installation positions of monitoring instruments and interface requirements for external connections;
f)Clearance dimension drawings for the maintenance of main components;
g) Basic configuration list of main components.
4.2 Technical specifications
4.2.1 The technical documents shall include at least the following main technical specifications and parameters:
a)Model;
b)Type (number of strokes, fuel injection method, combustion chamber shape, supercharging method and whether the supercharged air is intercooled, etc.);
c)Cylinder bore, mm;
d)Piston stroke, mm;
e)Number of cylinders, cylinder arrangement and cylinder angle;
f)Total displacement, L;
g) Compression ratio;
h) Rated power, kW;
i) Rated speed, r/min;
j) Minimum stable working speed, r/min;
k) Minimum noload stable speed, r/min;
l) Overspeed shutdown speed, r/min;
m) Mean piston speed at rated speed, m/s;
