For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

impurity
the particle attached on the surface of bearing/bearing part and having influence on bearing performance
3.2
particle size
the maximum size of particle (the maximum distance from point to point on the contour line of particle striograph)
3.3
bearing/bearing part cleanliness
the weight of impurity on each set of bearing/each bearing part or the weight of impurity per unit surface area; the size and number of impurity particle from each set of bearing/each piece of bearing part or the size and number of impurity particle per unit surface area
