1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of Remanufacturing parts for earth moving machinery, specifies the processes and requirements and provides relevant information material. This document applies to the remanufacturing of reusable parts of earth moving machinery as defined in ISO 6165, non-road machinery can also be used for reference.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document by means of normative references in the text. Among them, note the date of the reference document, only the date of the corresponding version applies to this document; not note the date of the reference document, its latest version (including all the revision of the list) applies to this document.
3 Terms and definitions
The terms defined in ISO 6165, ISO 10987 and ISO 16714 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document. Note: Additional generic terms and definitions are provided in Appendix A.
4 Remanufacturing process
A diagram of the remanufacturing process for earthmoving machinery parts is shown in Figure 1 and the details of the process are provided in Appendices B to D.
5 requirements
After the remanufacturing process, the quality and performance of the Remanufacturing blank should be able to meet the conditions of "similar to the new product" or "better than the new product". The "like new" or "better than new" condition may include a Remanufacturing improved design that is compatible with the original design.
Remanufacturing shall only be carried out by the original equipment manufacturer, a partner or delegated authorised party.
The remanufacturer should verify that all safety improvement plans have been completed.
The remanufacturer should determine if additional service information is required (e.g. higher bolt torque) and should provide a means of obtaining it.
6 Information material
6.1 Product identification
The original product information should be stored on the Remanufacturing product or packaging. Remanufacturing parts should be identified as "Remanufacturing Product".
The following information shall be provided on the Remanufacturing product or packaging:
Name and address of the remanufacturer
Name of the Remanufacturing product (e.g. name, model or type)
The part number of the Remanufacturing product (if applicable);
Serial number of the Remanufacturing product (if applicable);
Marking required by law and regulation (e.g. exhaust emission labelling requirements, if applicable);
Date of remanufacture and, if new, date of manufacture on the same product;
6.2 Additional labelling information
Different regions should require the use of specific symbols, signs or labels to indicate that the product is a Remanufacturing product. Examples of such labels can be found in Appendix E.
