1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and nomenclature of elastic adhesives, general requirements, test conditions and material test methods product nomenclature, labelling and precautions.
This document applies to reactive resin adhesives for external wall tiling.

3 Terms and definitions,
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Pot-life time
The time interval after which the adhesive is ready for use after mixing.
4 Classification and nomenclature
Adhesives are classified according to their composition and reaction mode in Table 1.
5 General requirements
Adhesives should meet the requirements of Table 2.
6 Test conditions and materials
6.1 Test conditions
The standard test conditions are ambient temperature (23±2)C and relative humidity (50±5)%. Other test conditions are described in chapter 7.
6.2 Test materials
6.2.1 General requirements
All test materials (including water) shall be left under standard test conditions for at least 24 h prior to the test.
6.2.2 Cement silicone mortar substrates
The mortar shall be cast in a metal frame of 70 mm x 70 mm x 20 mm and shall conform to the provisions of Chapter 6 of ISO 679:2009. Hardened for 24h at (20±3)C and a relative humidity of not less than 80%, after demoulding, placed in water at (20±3)C for 7 d. Left for 14 d at an ambient temperature of (23±2)C and a relative humidity of (50 soil 10) %, the surface is sanded using sandpaper conforming to the requirements of ISO 21948 (the grit of the sandpaper conforms to the requirements of P150 in GB/T9258.2-2008). The surface should be sanded to remove any residue or release agent from the surface.
6.2.3 Ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles should meet the requirements of category BIa in Iso 13006 and have a water absorption rate of not more than 0.5%. The ceramic tiles shall be unused and clean and dry.
6.2.4 Fibre cement slabs
The fibre cement slabs shall conform to the requirements of ISO 8336, category C, and shall be 8 mm thick.
6.3 Toothed trowels
The blade of the toothed spatula is made of steel or similar material and has the dimensions shown in Figure 1. If the adhesive manufacturer specifies otherwise, a different toothed spatula may be used.

7 Test methods
7.1 Storage period
The fully packed adhesive was stored at (23±2)C and (50±10)% relative humidity for 14 d, then at (50°C and (85°C and 5)% relative humidity for 14 d, for a total of 28 d. Approximately 100 g of adhesive was placed on a glass plate of dimensions 100 mm x 100 mm x 5 mm and the adhesive was immediately spread with a spatula into a thin layer of approximately 1 mm thickness. The gel layer and foreign bodies are checked. This test is only applicable to one-component adhesives.
7.2 Mixing uniformity
Mix the resin and curing agent in the proportions specified by the manufacturer to obtain a mixture of 200 g to 300 g. The mixture is placed on a glass plate with dimensions of 3000 mm x 300 mm x 5 mm and immediately stirred thoroughly for approx. 3 min to confirm homogeneity by visual inspection. This test is only applicable to two-component adhesives.
7.3 Bond strength
7.3.1 Test material
7.3.1.1 Base material
The base material is the cement mortar base material specified in 6.2.2, size 70 mmX70 mmX20 mm. The surface should be free of dust, dirt, etc.
7.3.1.2 Ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles are those specified in 6.2.3. The dimensions are 45 mmX45 mmX7 mm.
7.3.2
Specimen preparation
7.3.2.1 Spreading of the adhesive
The five substrates are placed in the steel frame shown in Figure 3, polished side up, with the substrates seamlessly connected and fixed to each other. A strip of flexible masking tape is applied to the steel frame so that it extends 7 mm beyond the edge of the substrate, as shown in Figure 4. A thin layer of adhesive of approx. 5 mm is spread on the substrate and the adhesive is combed through with a toothed spatula at approx. 60° to the substrate in order to spread it evenly. Remove the tape slowly after spreading.
7.5 Thermal stability
7.5.1 Test materials
7.5.1.1 Substrate
The substrate is the cementitious mortar substrate specified in 6.2.2. The dimensions shall be 70 mmX70 mmX20 mm. The surface shall be free from dust, dirt, etc.
7.5.1.2 Ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles are those specified in 6.2.3. The dimensions are 45 mmX45 mmX7 mm. A 1 mm sting (e.g. steel ball) is placed on the four corners of the ceramic tile at the bottom to ensure the thickness of the adhesive.
7.5.2 Preparation of the specimen
7.5.2.1 Spreading of the adhesive
The five substrates are placed in the steel frame shown in Figure 3, polished side up, with the substrates joined and secured at the seams. A strip of flexible masking tape is applied to the steel frame so that it extends 7 mm beyond the edge of the substrate, as shown in Figure 4. A thin layer of adhesive of approx. 5 mm is spread on the substrate and the adhesive is combed through with a toothed spatula at approx. 60° to the substrate in order to spread it evenly. Remove the tape slowly after paving.
7.5.2.2 Placement of ceramic tiles
When the adhesive is spread, place the ceramic tile in the centre of the substrate and press down by hand until the spacer touches the substrate. Any excess adhesive extruded from the ceramic tile should be removed immediately. Under standard conditions, the two-component adhesive should be cured within 14 d and the one-component adhesive within 28 d.
7.5.2.3 Test procedure
After curing, the test assembly is placed vertically in an oven at 80 C and a weight of 1 kg is applied to the ceramic tile. This is shown in Figure 12. If the ceramic tile does not fall off within 28 d, the adhesive is satisfactory.
7.6 Slip test
7.6.1 Test materials
7.6.1.1 Substrate
The substrate is a fibre-cement slab as specified in 6.2.4, with dimensions of 200 mm X 500 mm X 8 mm. The surface should be free of dust and dirt.
7.6.1.2 Ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles of the type specified in 6.2.3. The dimensions are 45 mmX 45 mmX 7 mm. 1 mm spacers (e.g. steel balls) are placed on the four corners of the ceramic tile at the bottom to ensure the thickness of the adhesive.
7.6.2 Preparation of the specimen and test procedure
7.6.2.1 Spreading of the adhesive
Spread a thin layer of adhesive of approx. 3 mm on the substrate and comb through the adhesive with a toothed spatula at approx. 60° to the substrate for even spreading. The direction of application should be parallel to the long side of the substrate.
7.6.2.2 Test procedure
The ceramic tile is placed lightly in the position shown in Figure 13 and pressed by hand until the spacer touches the substrate, this process should be completed within 5 min of spreading the adhesive. Immediately remove any excess adhesive extruded from the ceramic tile. Install the table block between the two sides of the substrate and the ceramic tiles, which should be fixed to the substrate and at the same - level as the ceramic tiles. Draw a line between the ceramic tile and the table block as a base line, immediately stand the substrate vertically and hold it for 24h, measure the sliding distance of the ceramic tile to an accuracy of 0.5mm.
7.7 Serviceable time (two-component adhesives)
7.7.1 General requirements
The serviceable time (two-component adhesives) is tested according to IsO 10364:2007, 8.5.
7.7.2 Apparatus
7.7.2.1 Beakers
Material not reactive with adhesive, not more than 1 mm thick, 250 mL capacity.
7.7.2.2 Spatula
Material does not react with the adhesive, the end surface is flat.
7.7.2.3
Water bath
Temperature constant at 0.1 C in the temperature range of 15 C to 30 C.
7.7.2.4 Stopwatch:
Accurate to within 1 s of the earth.
7.7.2.5 Test chamber
The test chamber shall meet the requirements of the test temperature and, if ambient humidity is required, the relative humidity shall be (50±5)%.
7.7.2.6 Aluminium tray
Clean and degreased, size 400 mm X 200 mm X 1 mm.
7.8 Drying time (one-component adhesives)
7.8.1 Test material
7.8.1.1 Substrate
The substrate is the cement mortar substrate specified in 6.2.2. The dimensions should be 70 mmX70 mmX20 mm. The surface should be free of dust, dirt, etc.
7.8.1.2 Ceramic tiles;
Ceramic tiles of the type specified in 6.2.3. The dimensions are 45 mmX45 mmX7 mm.
7.8.2 Preparation of specimens and test procedure
The adhesive is applied to the substrate in accordance with 7.3.2.1. After the adhesive has been spread evenly, the ceramic tile is placed lightly on the adhesive in the centre of the substrate at 10 min intervals and loaded with 1 kg weight, held for 30 s and then removed. Cure the assembly under standard conditions for 672 h. Test the bond strength of the cured assembly in accordance with 7.3.5.
7.8.3 Determination of drying time
The drying time of a one-component adhesive is the maximum time interval when the bond strength of the test component reaches at least 80% of the standard bond strength and is not less than 0.6 N/mm'.
7.9 Density
The density of the adhesive is determined in accordance with the requirements of ISO 2811-1.
8 Product naming
Adhesive products should be named according to the name of this document and the main components for classification.
E.g.:Elastomeric adhesives for external wall tiles / silyl-terminated polymer one-component curing reaction type.
9 Labelling
Adhesives should be labelled with the following information on their packaging: .
a) Execution standard;
b) Type of adhesive;
c) Applicable ceramic tiles;
d) the useable time of the two-component adhesive or the drying time of the one-component adhesive;
e) Net weight or volume;
f) density;
10 Precautions
The packaging and containers of adhesive products should be marked with the following precautions: .
a) Avoid sunlight during storage;
b) Use at temperatures above 5C;
c) The adhesive should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

6.2 Test materials

The adhesive is applied to the substrate in accordance with 7.3.2.1. After the adhesive has been spread evenly, the ceramic tile is placed lightly on the adhesive in the centre of the substrate at 10 min intervals and loaded with 1 kg weight, held for 30 s and then removed. Cure the assembly under standard conditions for 672 h. Test the bond strength of the cured assembly in accordance with 7.3.5.
7.8.3 Determination of drying time
The drying time of a one-component adhesive is the maximum time interval when the bond strength of the test component reaches at least 80% of the standard bond strength and is not less than 0.6 N/mm'.
7.9 Density
The density of the adhesive is determined in accordance with the requirements of ISO 2811-1.
8 Product naming
Adhesive products should be named according to the name of this document and the main components for classification.

9 Labelling
