Leisure accommodation vehicle - Safety ventilation requirements
1 Scope
This document specifies the complete vehicle requirements, requirements for free area of ventilation, and test method for free ventilation involved in the safety ventilation of leisure accommodation vehicles.
This document is applicable to the leisure accommodation vehicles specified in GB/T 22550.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 3730.3 and GB/T 22550 and the following apply.
3.1
leisure accommodation vehicle
unit of living accommodation for temporary or seasonal occupation that may meet requirements for construction and use of road vehicles
Note: Leisure accommodation vehicles include recreational Vehicles and caravans.

3.2
overall plan area
projected area of a leisure accommodation vehicle on the horizontal plane
3.3
habitable compartment
compartment for occupation purposes (including area where washing machine is placed, bathroom and access)
Note: A separate space temporarily isolated by a curtain is regarded as a habitable compartment.
3.4
ventilation
measures that ensure the provision of fresh air for the benefit of occupants, the provision of air for combustion in appliances, and the removal of stale air, products of combustion and unwanted gases

4 Complete vehicle requirements
4.1 General
4.1.1 Each habitable compartment shall be equipped with a ventilator with a vent meeting the requirements for the minimum safe and free area of ventilation specified in Clause 5.
4.1.2 A leisure accommodation vehicle will be considered to meet the requirements of 4.1.1 if it has been subjected to the test for safe and free area of ventilation according to Clause 6, the test result meets the judgment requirements and a permanent label is posted next to the open-flame appliance. The content of the label shall meet those specified in Annex A.
4.1.3 The ventilator shall meet the following requirements:
a) renewing air for occupants;
b) providing air for combustion in non-room-sealed appliance in the vehicle;
c) conveying the products of combustion of flueless appliance to the exterior of the vehicle;
d) providing necessary ventilation for the installed electrical appliance.
4.1.4 If the free area of ventilation is reduced while the vehicle is in motion, the ventilator shall be automatically restored to meet the requirements of Clause 5 or 6 when the vehicle is stopped and the engine is shut down.
4.1.5 In order to ensure occupation safety, the following points shall be particularly emphasized in the vehicle operating instructions:
a) the vent shall not be wholly or partially blocked under any circumstances;
b) the vent shall be kept unblocked, and the net plate or guard (grille) at the vent shall be kept clean;
c) the cooking appliances such as open-flame cookware shall not be used for heating in compartment;
d) in the case that a leisure accommodation vehicle has been tested and approved according to the requirements of Clause 6, the warning sign as defined in Annex A shall be reproduced in its operating instructions;
e) when a leisure accommodation vehicle with liftable roofs is used for occupation, all the liftable roofs should be lifted.
