3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in SJ/T 11861—2024 and the following apply.
3.1 electric double layer capacitor
A supercapacitor that primarily stores energy through the electric double layer capacitance formed at the electrode/electrolyte interface.
3.2 coin electric double layer capacitor
An electric double layer capacitor with a coin-type housing and corresponding lead configuration.
3.3 cylindrical electric double layer capacitor
An electric double layer capacitor with a cylindrical housing and corresponding lead configuration.
4 Product Classification, Type Designation, and Specification
4.1 Product Classification
Electric double layer capacitors are mainly classified by their external structural form into coin electric double layer capacitors and cylindrical electric double layer capacitors.
4.2 Type Designation
According to the provisions of SJ/T 11625—2016, the type designation of an electric double layer capacitor consists of four parts: identification, type, rated voltage, and rated capacitance.
