General safety technical requirements for recycled fiber
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic safety technical requirements, inspection, judgment rules and marking of recycled fiber.
This standard is applicable to the production, processing and sales of recycled fibers.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this standard. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced documents (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 7573 Textiles — Determination of pH of the aqueous extract
GB 15979 Hygienic standard for disposable sanitary products
GB/T 28024 Determination of sensory odors for products with filling materials
GB/T 28025 Determination of the residual chlorine in products with filling materials — Water extraction method
3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
recycled fiber
fiber that made of fiber waste, fiber products and waste, and processed by opening and other methods
3.2
sensory odors
abnormal odor emitted by recycled fibers, including musty smell, high boiling range petroleum smell (such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil), fishy smell, aromatic hydrocarbon smell, goaty smell, urine smell, etc.
3.3
free residual chlorine
chlorines in the form of hypochlorous acid, hypochlorite ion and dissolved elemental chlorine
4 Basic safety technical requirements
4.1 Class I recycled fiber
4.1.1 Pathogenic bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Hemolytic streptococcus shall not be detected.
4.1.2 No sensory odor is detected.
4.1.3 The pH value is 4.0 ~ 9.0.
4.1.4 The content of free residual chlorine shall not be more than 10 mg/kg.
4.2 Class II recycled fiber
4.2.1 Pathogenic bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Hemolytic streptococcus shall not be detected.
4.2.2 The content of free residual chlorine shall not be more than 20 mg/kg.
5 Inspection
5.1 Batch sample
5.1.1 The recycled fibers shall be batched in package. Sampling is carried out by batch. The same batch of products shall be the same raw materials and the same process.
5.1.2 Take one pack from every 10 packs. The quantity less than 10 packs shall be counted as 10 packs. If the quantity is more than 10 packs, one pack shall be added for each additional 10 packs. At least two compression surfaces are selected for each pack, and a certain number of fibers are taken out after removing the surface fibers to form a batch sample with a total mass of not less than 600 g (including about 100 g samples for microbial detection, and the rest samples for sensory odor, pH value and free residual chlorine index detection).
5.1.3 Samples used for microbial detection and those used for other indexes detection are quickly put into clean and airtight containers and delivered to the laboratory to ensure that the samples are not polluted.
5.2 Laboratory samples
5.2.1 Samples for microbial detection shall be formed into specimen according to the standard requirements.
5.2.2 After sensory odor detection, the rest of the samples are placed on the workbench and fully mixed, and the test samples are taken by multi-point random method.
5.3 Test methods
5.3.1 Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Hemolytic streptococcus are tested according to GB 15979.
5.3.2 Sensory odors are tested according to GB/T 28024.
5.3.3 pH value is tested according to GB/T 7573.
5.3.4 Free residual chlorine is tested according to GB/T 28025.
