1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated to unify the requirements for design and construction of sprinkler engineering, improve quality of engineering construction, introduce achievements and experience on advanced technologies of sprinkling irrigation and promote the healthy development of water conservation and irrigation.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design, construction, installation and acceptance of new, expanded and renovated sprinkler engineering in agriculture, forestry, husbandry and garden grassland.
1.0.3 In sprinkler engineering construction, it shall carefully implement national policy on technical economy, adjust measures to local conditions, make full use of original water conservancy facilities, save energy, make comprehensive utilization so as to achieve practicableness, state-of-art technology, economy and rationality as well as safety and reliability.
1.0.4 The design unit of sprinkler engineering shall have the corresponding aptitude in engineering design. The unit undertaking the construction and installation of engineering shall have the corresponding aptitude in engineering construction and installation.
1.0.5 It shall select materials and equipments for sprinkler engineering which have been tested or recognized by legal testing organizations.
1.0.6 The design, construction, installation and acceptance of sprinkler engineering shall not only comply with those specified in this code, but also shall meet the specifications in the current relevant national standards.
2 Terms and Symbols
2.1 Terms
2.1.1 Sprinkler irrigation
A method of irrigation, by which pressure flow is sent to irrigated plot through special equipment so that the sprinkler will spray water evenly.
2.1.2 Sprinkler irrigation system
A system, by which the water is taken, pressurized, transported and distributed to the field for sprinkler irrigation.
2.1.3 Mechanical pressure sprinkler irrigation system
A sprinkler irrigation system whose operating pressure is provided by power machine and pump.
2.1.4 Gravity sprinkler irrigation system
A sprinkler irrigation system whose operating pressure is provided by natural water head.
2.1.5 Sprinkler system with permanent pipe
A sprinkler irrigation system all of whose pipes are fixed.
2.1.6 Sprinkler system with semi-permanent pipe
A sprinkler irrigation system, whose power machine, pump and main pipe are fixed and whose lateral pipe and sprinkler are moveable.
2.1.7 Sprinkler system with traveling pipe
A sprinkler irrigation system all of whose pipes are movable.
2.1.8 Unit sprinkler system
A sprinkler irrigation system with sprinkling machine as main body.
2.1.9 Sprinkler fixed in place during watering
A sprinkler pattern where the sprinkler stays at the same position when spaying water.
