1 Scope
This part specifies the determination method for zirconium content in copper and copper alloys.
This part is applicable to the determination of zirconium content in copper and copper alloys, and the determination range is 0.10% ~ 0.70%.
2 Principle
Dissolve the test portion into hydrochloric acid and hydogen peroxide and adjust the acidity with perchloric acid, then determine the absorbance with an spectrophotometer at the wavelength of 540nm, with the xylenol orange as the developer and the test portion solution, to which the ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) is added for the screening of zirconium, as reference.
