Foreword
GB/T 5137 consists of 5 parts under the general title Test methods of safety glazing materials used on road vehicles:
——Part 1: Mechanical properties tests;
——Part 2: Optical properties tests;
——Part 3: Radiation, high temperature, humidity, fire and simulated weathering resistance tests;
——Part 4: Determination of solar characteristic;
——Part 5: Resistant-to-chemical and resistant-to-temperature changes test.
This is Part 5 of GB/T 5137.
This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 17339-1998 Road vehicles - Safety glazing materials - Test methods for resistant-to-chemicals and resistant-to-temperature changes. In addition to editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 17339-1998:
——The “Normative references” are added (see Clause 2);
——The “Terms and definitions” are added (see Clause 3);
——The “Test conditions” are added (see Clause 4);
——Test apparatuses for “resistant-to-chemical test” are added (see 5.3);
——Method for testing resistant-to-chemicals of rigid plastics - weight-bearing method is added (see 5.5.3);
——Test apparatuses and appliances for resistant-to-temperature changes test are added (see 6.2);
——Method for testing resistant-to-temperature changes of rigid plastics is added (see 6.4.2);
——The “Test report” is deleted (see Clause 4 of GB/T 17339-1998).
This part was proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.
This part is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 114 National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization.
The previous edition of this part is as follows:
——GB/T 17339-1998.
Test methods of safety glazing materials used on road vehicles -
Part 5: Resistant-to-chemical and resistant-to-temperature changes test
Warning: Attention is drawn to the necessity for taking precautions to safeguard the safety of the personnel conducting the tests against the potential hazard may arise from the test specified in this document.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 5137 specifies the methods for testing resistant-to-chemical and resistant-to-temperature changes of safety glazing materials used on road vehicles.
This part is applicable to test plastic-glass composite materials, rigid plastics and flexible plastics used on road vehicles, where the weight-bearing method used in the resistant-to-chemical test is only applicable to rigid plastics.
