1 Scope
This standard specifies the labelling of petroleum-based or non-petroleum-based brake fluid for the braking and hydraulic systems of road vehicles, including mopeds and motorcycles.
It is applicable to the labelling of containers for brake fluid commodity and for brake fluid used on vehicles.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. 3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
petroleum-based brake fluid
brake fluid processed with various hydrocarbons as raw materials
3.2
non-petroleum-based brake fluid
brake fluid with synthetic liquid as basic liquid and added with various additives
4 Labelling
4.1 General requirements
The labelling on the container for brake fluid commodity shall meet the requirements of 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5.1, 4.5.3 and 4.6, and that on the container for brake fluid used on vehicles shall meet the requirements of 4.2.1, 4.5.2, 4.5.3 and 4.6.2.
4.2 Brake fluid types
4.2.1 The brake fluid code and graphical symbols conforming to Annex A shall be indicated on the container;
4.2.2 The implementation standard of brake fluid shall be indicated on the container.
4.2.3 In case of a container for non-petroleum-based brake fluid, the minimum equilibrium reflux boiling point and minimum wet equilibrium reflux boiling point of the product shall be indicated on the container in degrees Celsius.
