1 Scope
This standard specifies the methods to carry out performance test, reliability test and durability test on the bench for spark ignition engine for motorcycles and mopeds.
This standard is applicable to spark ignition engine for motorcycles and mopeds (hereinafter referred to as engine).
2 Normative References
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.
GB 4569 Limit and Measurement Method of Noise Emitted by Stationary Motorcycles and Mopeds
GB/T 6072.1 Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines—Performance—Part 1: Standard Reference Conditions, Declarations of Power, Fuel and Lubricating Oil Consumptions, and Test Methods (GB/T 6072.1-2000, idt ISO 3046-1:1995)
GB 14621 Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Emissions from Motorcycles and Mopeds at Idle Speed
3 Test Conditions
3.1 Standard environmental conditions
Standard environmental conditions shall be in accordance with the relevant requirements of GB/T 6072.1.
3.2 Accessories
Before the test, the engine shall be equipped with all accessories necessary under actual service conditions. The charging or lighting generator or the charging or lighting coil in a magnetor, if any, may be unloaded. The attached accessories shall be recorded in detail in the corresponding test record sheet and test report.
3.3 Measurement of output power
Output power is measured at the engine crankshaft. If the engine structure does not permit, measurement shall be carried out at corresponding output shaft of the engine, and its transmission efficiency shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
