Technical specifications for centrifugal pumps (Class III)
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, design, materials, factory inspection and test, and shipment preparation respecting centrifugal pumps (hereinafter referred to as pumps).
This standard covers requirements for pumps of single stage, multistage, horizontal or vertical construction (coupled or close-coupled) with any drive and any installation for general application.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 7021 and the following apply.
3.1
operating conditions
all operating parameters (for example temperature, pressure) determined by a given application and pumped liquid
Note: These parameters will influence the type of construction and materials of pumps.
3.2
allowable operating range
flow range, defined by the manufacturer/supplier, at the specified operating conditions, using the impeller supplied, as limited by cavitation, heating, vibration, noise, shaft deflection and other similar criteria, with a range whose upper and lower limits are denoted by maximum and minimum continuous flow, respectively
3.3
rated conditions
specified guarantee-point operating conditions, including flowrate, head, power, efficiency, net positive suction head, suction pressure, temperature, density, viscosity and speed
3.4
driven rated power output
maximum permissible driver power output under site operating conditions
