Pressure plates for steel wire ropes of lifting appliances
1 Scope
This document specifies the types and basic parameters, technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of pressure plates for steel wire ropes, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to pressure plates for steel wire ropes used for the end fixing of round strand steel wire ropes specified in GB/T 8918, GB/T 20118 and YB/T 5359 on crane drums.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative reference. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies.

No terms and definitions need to be defined in this document.
4 Types and basic parameters
4.1 Types
Pressure plates for steel wire ropes (hereinafter referred to as "pressure plates") are generally classified into arcshaped pressure plates, trapezoidal pressure plates and singlerope pressure plates. Arcshaped pressure plates are further classified into standard groove type and deep groove type.
4.2 Basic parameters
The basic parameters of arcshaped pressure plates should comply with Table 1. A typical schematic diagram is shown in Figure 1.
The basic parameters of trapezoidal pressure plates should comply with Table 2. A typical schematic diagram is shown in Figure 2.
The basic parameters of singlerope pressure plates should comply with Table 3. A typical schematic diagram is shown in Figure 3.
4.3 Model designation method
The designation for arcshaped pressure plates is represented by the capital letters "HY", derived from the first letters of the Chinese pinyin "Hu Ya" (arc pressure). The designation for trapezoidal pressure plates is represented by the capital letters "TY", derived from the first letters of the Chinese pinyin "Ti Ya" (trapezoidal pressure). The designation for singlerope pressure plates is represented by the capital letters "DY", derived from the first letters of the Chinese pinyin "Dan Ya" (single pressure). For deep groove arcshaped pressure plates, the letter "S" is added after the designation of the arcshaped pressure plate. The model of a pressure plate consists of the designation and the maximum applicable steel wire rope diameter. Examples are as follows:
Example 1: An arcshaped standard groove pressure plate applicable to a steel wire rope nominal diameter d > 14 mm to 17 mm is marked as: HY17;
Example 2: An arcshaped deep groove pressure plate applicable to a steel wire rope nominal diameter d > 14 mm to 17 mm is marked as: HY17S;
Example 3: A trapezoidal pressure plate applicable to a steel wire rope nominal diameter d > 12 mm to 14 mm is marked as: TY14.
