Clad steel plates — Test methods for mechanical and technological properties
1 Scope
This document specifies the test methods for tensile, shear, bending, bonding, adhesion, impact and Vickers hardness of single-side and double-side clad steel plates (hereinafter referred to as "clad steel plates").
This document is applicable to the mechanical and technological property testing of clad steel plates manufactured by rolling, explosive cladding, surfacing welding, explosive rolling, surfacing welding rolling and other processing methods, using carbon steel as the base metal and stainless steel or non-ferrous metals and alloys as the cladding material.
Other metal clad plates shall refer to this document.

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 10623, as well as the following, apply.
3.1
clad
A process in which one metal is completely covered by another metal to achieve a metallurgical bond at the interface (excluding plated metals).
3.2
clad steel plate
A clad plate with carbon steel as the base metal.
3.3
base metal
The material that primarily bears the structural strength in a clad steel plate.
3.4

The sum of the thicknesses of the base metal and the cladding metal.
3.7
clad ratio
The ratio of the cladding metal thickness to the total thickness of the clad steel plate.
3.8
single-side clad steel plate
A clad steel plate with cladding metal on one side of the base metal.
3.9
double-side clad steel plate
A clad steel plate with cladding metal on both sides of the base metal.
3.10
external bend test
A bend test in which the surface of the cladding metal under test is in tension.
3.11
internal bend test
A bend test in which the surface of the base metal is in tension.
3.12
side bend test
A bend test in which the tensile surface of the specimen is the cross-section perpendicular to the rolling direction of the clad steel plate (transverse or longitudinal specimen).
3.13
bond test
A test in which the specimen is bent internally around a mandrel of specified diameter to a specified angle, and after the test force is removed, the degree of separation at the composite interface on both sides of the specimen is examined.
3.14
adhesion test
A test in which a static pressure is applied through a corresponding adhesion test device to subject the composite interface of the clad steel plate to a normal tensile force, causing separation between the base metal and the cladding metal, in order to determine the adhesive strength.
4 Symbols and explanations
The symbols and explanations in Table 1 apply to this document.
5 Tensile test
5.1 General requirements
The test principle is the same as that in GB/T 228.1. The test equipment, original gauge length and extensometer gauge length, test requirements, property determination and rounding of test results shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 228.1.
5.2 Test specimens
5.2.1 The number, direction and location of blank sampling shall comply with the relevant product standards for clad steel plates or base metal, or with the relevant provisions of GB/T 2975.
5.2.2 The shape and dimensions of the test specimens shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 228.1. Rectangular specimens shall be applicable to all tests.
5.2.3 When the total thickness TT of the clad steel plate is not greater than 40 mm, full-thickness specimens shall be used for testing.
5.2.4 When the total thickness TT of the clad steel plate is greater than 40 mm, the thickness may be reduced to 40 mm by reducing the thickness from both the base metal and the cladding metal in proportion to the clad ratio, provided that the cladding metal thickness acac of the specimen is not less than 3 mm. When the cladding metal thickness TcTc is not greater than 3 mm, only the base metal thickness TbTb is reduced.
5.2.5 For clad steel plates with special applications or requirements, specimens with the
