3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; PAHs
Hydrocarbons with two or more benzene rings in their molecules.
Note: According to the connection mode of benzene ring, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons can be divided into three categories: polyphenyl aliphatic hydrocarbons, biphenyls and condensed polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
3.2
Heavy metal
Density at 4.5 g/cm ³ More than metal.
Note: such as copper, lead, zinc, tin, nickel, cobalt, antimony, mercury, cadmium and bismuth.

4 Classification and naming
4.1 Classification
The pigment carbon black is divided into the following three categories according to the particle size and blackness, as shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Classification of pigment carbon black
classification Blackness 粒径/nm
HCC(HCF) ≤22 9~17
MCC(MCF) 23~30 18~25
RCC(RCF) ≥31 26~37
Note 1: HCC is the abbreviation of High Colour Channel.
Note 2: HCF is the abbreviation of High Colour Furnace.
Note 3: MCC is the abbreviation of Medium Colour Channel.
Note 4: MCF is the abbreviation of Medium Colour Furnace.
Note 5: RCC is the abbreviation of Regular Colour Channel.
Note 6: RCF is the abbreviation of Regular Colour Furnace.
4.2 Naming
The name of the pigment carbon black variety is indicated by a four digit symbol. The first digit is the English letter, representing the production process, "C" representing the contact process (channel), and "F" representing the furnace process; The second digit refers to the category of pigment carbon black, "1" refers to high pigment, "3" refers to medium pigment, and "6" refers to common pigment; The third digit is a number indicating post-treatment, 1 indicates that the carbon black has not been post-treated, and 2 indicates that the carbon black has been post-treated; The fourth digit is a number indicating the structure of the pigment carbon black, in which 1 indicates that the oil absorption value is greater than 100 × 10-5m ³/ Kg, 5 means the oil absorption value is less than or equal to 100 × 10-5m ³/ kg。
Example: C121 refers to high pigment carbon black with high structure after treatment by contact method
C 1 2 1
Indicates high structure
——It means post-processing
-High pigment means contact method
5 Characteristic requirements
5.1 All products shall be free of impurities.
5.2 The characteristic indexes of each variety shall meet the requirements of Table 2.
5.3 45 μ M Sieve residue ≤ 300 mg/kg.
5.4 Total content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ≤ 80 mg/kg.
5.5 Total content of heavy metals ≤ 20 mg/kg.
