1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for classification and grading of ramie.
This standard is applicable to the production, purchasing, processing and handing-over inspection of ramie.
2 Normative References
The involved provision in the following standard will become the provision by quoting by this standard. When published, all the shown versions are valid. All the standards will be modified, and all parties using this standard shall discuss the possibility of using the latest version.
GB/T 5883-1986 Testing Method of Moisture Regain and Moisture Content of Ramie Fiber

3 Definitions
This standard adopts the following definition:
3.1 Trash: the natural foreign impurities in ramie, such as boon, hards and ramie leaf etc.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 The ramie is classified into two categories: A and B, according to the liner density of ramie fiber.
4.1.1 Category A: the ramie whose linear density of ramie fiber is or below 556 mtex (the metric count is or above 1800).
4.1.2 Category B: the ramie whose linear density of ramie fiber is above 556 mtex (the metric count is below 1800).
4.2 According to different harvest seasons, the ramie is classified into first crop, second crop and third crop.
4.3 Grade specifications are detailed in Table1.
