1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition and determination method of the total or effective thickness of thin surface hardened layers of steel parts.
This standard is applicable to steel parts with total or effective thickness of surface hardened layer of less than 0.3mm.
This standard is not applicable to parts with no transition layer between the hardened layer and base metal.
