本标准规定了医用诊断X射线防护玻璃板的尺寸、几何尺寸精度、光学质量和辐射衰减性能。
本标准适用于放射设备或放射器具中使用的屏蔽X射线的防护玻璃板，其中SC型防护玻璃板是用于光学目视影像的传输，Ⅵ型防护玻璃板是用于观察目的。
本标准不适用于其他透明辐射防护材料，例如：透明塑料防护板（含铅有机玻璃）、含铅眼镜或眼睛防护屏和含铅防护面罩。
