1 Scope
This standard specifies the content format and transmission mode of the basic EPG information applied to the digital television broadcasting as well as the content format of the extended EPG information applied to interchange. As for the content format and transmission mode of extended EPG applied to digital television broadcasting, due to the close relation to the middleware and some other digital television standards under study, they are not specified in this standard at present.
This standard does not specify the generation and display modes of EPG, so that the operators and digital television receiving terminal manufacturers may select the generation and display mode at discretion.
This standard is applicable to the transmission of basic EPG information from the digital television broadcasting front end to the receiving terminal and the exchange of EPG information between digital television broadcasting front ends.
