1.1.1 This safety guidance document aims at offering the guidance to design management system of radioactive wastes in nuclear power plant; pointing out the design objective & system requirements which shall be satisfied and providing with equipment design suggestions.
1.1.2 This safety guidance document shall be used together with other nuclear safety codes and safety guidance documents on the safe operation, environmental protection, radiation protection and waste management of nuclear power plant.
1.2 Scope
1.2.1 This guidance document is applicable to the design of radioactive-wastes management system in thermal-reactor (such as pressurized water reactor, boiling water reactor, gas cooled reactor and CANDU) nuclear power plant; it specifies the design, construction and performance requirements of the management system for waste gas, waste liquid and solid waste; in addition, it also specifies in-plant wastes storage and transportation.
1.2.2 This guidance document is neither involved with the design of nuclear power plant overhaul, ex-service radioactive-wastes management system or spent fuel storage facilities nor involved with the design relating to accidents or radioactive-substance escape.
