HG/T 21637-2021 Strainers for piping system of the chemical industry
1 General provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated to meet the needs of strainer selection, and to ensure the reasonable selection and design of strainer, the safe operation of core equipment such as pump and compressor, and the safe operation of instruments and automatic control equipment.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the selection of strainers for piping system of the chemical industry. Other industries such as petroleum and petrochemical industry may select and use it according to the design characteristics of the device.
1.0.3 This code specifies the basic technical requirements of strainers, including nominal dimension, nominal pressure, material, sealing surface dimension, tolerance and marking.
1.0.4 For flanged strainers, the processing requirements of the connecting end face shall comply with the current standard HG/T 20592 Steel pipe flanges (PN designated) or HG/T 20615 Steel pipe flanges (Class designated); the processing requirements of socket welded and threaded ends shall comply with the current national standard GB/T 14383 Forged fittings, socket-welding and threaded; the processing requirements of butt-welded ends shall comply with the current national standard GB/T 12459 Steel buttwelding pipe fittings - Types and parameter.
1.0.5 In addition to this code, the strainers shall also meet the requirements of current relevant national standards.

3 Type, end type and nominal pressure of strainers
3.1 Types of strainers
3.1.1 The strainers may be classified into Y-type strainers, T-type strainers, cone-strainers and basket-type strainers.
3.1.2 The types and codes of strainers shall meet the requirements of Table 3.1.2.
