1 Application Scope
This standard supplements the technical requirements about on-board diagnostic system (OBD) stated in GB 18352.3-2005, and proposes technical requirements for management in such aspects as type approval, production conformity inspection, in-use vehicle inspection and universal trouble diagnosis instrument of OBD system.
This standard is applicable to the light duty vehicles powered by spark ignition engine or compression ignition engine and with the maximum design speed larger than or equal to 50km/h. The heavy duty vehicles powered by spark ignition engine and with the maximum design speed larger than or equal to 25km/h may refer to this standard.
